At Moon Hall School, Dorking we offer a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to the needs of our children. Our prime focus is on remediating literacy, enabling pupils to access the full curriculum independently, raising the self-esteem of those who often arrive discouraged and frustrated by their difficulties. Our provision is based on the National Curriculum, as well as a range of extra-curricular activities, which enrich the experience of our children’s learning. At Moon Hall School, Dorking we believe in teaching to high expectations. We inspire and nurture the children by giving them appropriate teaching and support by our specialist trained staff to fulfil their potential.
There is an emphasis on learning being fun, experiential and relevant to the children’s world and their future life skills. An increased focus on independent learning, alongside developing collaborative skills, are developed through all subject areas. All pupils are taught Study Skills and touch-typing. Themed days and visits throughout the year enrich topics and bring learning to life.
