Full time fees at Moon Hall School

(Any increases come into effect in the September of each year)

September 2020-2021

  • Pupils in Years 3 and 4: £6,865 per term
  • Pupils in Year 5 and 6: £7,135 per term
  • Weekly Boarding: An additional £2,255 payable to Belmont School (Flexi boarding fees available)

Fees cover the cost of salaries, basic overheads, equipment and facilities at Moon Hall Dorking together with an element for the use of certain facilities at Belmont.

Small group teaching, individual lessons where necessary, and highly qualified staff mean that costs are very high. However, every effort is made to keep fees as low as possible whilst maintaining standards. We are extremely competitive compared with other specialist schools for dyslexic children.

Moon Hall Dorking and Belmont School are both registered charities and thus non-profit making. Neither is subsidised externally in any way and so all costs must be covered by fees.

Late payment fee

Fees are payable on or before the first day of each term. Late payment fees will be charged for late payment. These are levied at 2% per calendar month or part month on the balance outstanding three days after the beginning of term and on any balance outstanding on the first day of each month thereafter. Late payment invoices will be issued monthly.

Deposit

A deposit of £650 is payable on acceptance of a place in the school.  The deposit is refundable after the last term subject to payment of all outstanding accounts.

Registration Fee

A fee of £150 is required upon registering an interest in a place for your child.  This includes two taster days which are required by every prospective pupil before a place can be offered. A brief report on the taster days will be provided whether or not the child is admitted.

Specialist Advice

From time to time we are requested to provide specialist advice, for example in support of applications for funding by a Local Authority or appeals. We are happy to give general advice without charge and to complete the standard Local Authority questionnaires but if our specialist expertise is sought in order to support the advocacy of such an application or appeal, a separate charge will be made at the rate of £80 per hour per person and will only be undertaken if we believe the application is justified and we have the resources available. If we agree to undertake the work, we will make an assessment of probable time involved and will need a payment in advance plus further payments if more time than expected is required. We may have to engage additional staff to provide this service.

Sibling Discount

A sibling discount of 5% is in place for the first sibling and 10% for the second and succeeding siblings. This discount will be applied to the youngest child.

Notes*1

Full Dyslexia Support applies where our assessment is that a higher level of overall support is needed. There is a presumption that this will be or will become applicable in the cases of children who require regular additional 1 to 1 support in the Junior School, therapy, counselling or have an EHCP. Parents will be notified if this fee is or will become payable.

Extra charges are payable for items such as:

  • Individual stationery.
  • Outings.
  • Optometry.
  • Extra activities, requested by parents and usually organised by Belmont – such as music lessons, seasonal sporting courses, etc.
  • Entry fees for external examinations such as LAMDA
