Chris Goostrey (Chairman)
Chris is a consultant advising businesses on political risks in emerging markets and has a background in government service and international affairs. He has previously chaired the governing body at a large high performing state school. Chris says, “I have previously had 15 years as a school governor, culminating in chairing the governing body of a large, high performing state school. When the time came to move on, I was keen to take on responsibilities at another school and of those that came up MHSET appealed because it offers schools that are so completely different to any I have previously served both in terms of size and specialist provision. I am currently a management consultant with experience in both turning round businesses but also in working with start-ups and social enterprises. Before that I had a 22 year career in government service mainly in the MoD but also working in the Foreign Office conflict prevention programme”

Elizabeth (Betsie) Fitzgibbons
Betsie joined what is now Moon Hall School Reigate as Maths Head of Department in 2006 and has seen the school develop and grow substantially over the years. During the period February 2011 to July 2013 she lived in Australia as an ex-pat, returning to teach to Moon Hall School Reigate from September 2011 to September 2016. All three of Betsie’s sons are dyslexic and attended Moon Hall School Reigate and as such she has experience of being both a teacher and a parent. Betsie says, “Having been a part of the MHSET for a number of years, both as a parent and a teacher, means I have seen many children thrive in the nurturing yet stimulating environment of MHSET schools. In particular, my own dyslexic children flourished in the beautiful surroundings and under the care of the dedicated staff. As a Governor, I would like to help ensure that the MHSET grows in strength and that many more children are able to benefit from the support and understanding that this specialist school is able to provide. Having been a teacher for MHSET for a number of year’s means I can offer an understanding of the academic requirements and procedures when it comes to governance. At times, it is also useful being able to see things from the teacher’s perspective. My previous role was as Head of Maths, Moon Hall School Reigate.”
“I am passionate about inclusive creative Education. I am a retired Secondary School Mathematics Teacher with just under 40 years’ experience in Comprehensive State Education with 12 years as member of the Senior Management. Since retiring, I have become a volunteer with two local Charities and Surrey Police. I live in Reigate and have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren one of whom is a pupil at Moon Hall Reigate. I am often in local Schools, Businesses and Churches as an Ambassador for Charity work. I am an active Fellow of the RSA whose full title is the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce whose 30,000 fellowship believe in a better world where everyone is able to participate in creating a better future through uniting people and ideas to resolve the challenges of our time. I want to bring my support, enthusiasm and dedication to Moon Hall Schools Educational Trust”
